Instruction
The essay should consist of 3 to 5 paragraphs, written in prose (complete sentences). The first paragraph should rephrase the essay question and make a statement as to its relevance to physical geology. The second (third and fourth) paragraphs should provide a detailed answer to the questions, giving examples or using a case study to explain the answer. The last paragraph should provide conclusions. Question #1-First, define Metamorphism in Geological Terms. Second, in Metamorphism what are the three primary factors that lead to the formation of metamorphic rock. Third, give three examples of metamorphic rocks and how they form relative to the three primary factors. Question #2- First, define seismicity. Second, describe the two types of body wave and surface waves and their relative speeds. Thirdly, describe the Richter Scale and Mercalli scale. What do each of these scales measure? Question #3- First, define what is a Fossil? Second, what type of rock do we find fossils in? Third, name the eight types of fossilization. Fourth, do fossils provide a measure of relative or absolute time.
