PART A: Module 2; Assignment 1 - Self Reflection - Students' Awareness of their Metacognitive Skills
In Module 2 you have learned about the construct of metacognition. Now it is time to personalize you knowledge. In this assignment, you are asked to reflect on your own metacognitive skills. After doing so, please respond to each of the following questions:
1. How aware are you, in your opinion, about your own metacognitive skills? Describe your cognitive strengths as well as your weaknesses when you study new materials or new topics.
2. Have you ever used a strategy (it could be a trick) that no one taught you but it helped you to study or to remember something? Please describe
Instructions:Provide a written response to each of the questions listed above. Your total submission for this assignment should be about two pages in length, not counting the cover or References pages. Your response should be edited for minor grammatical and spelling errors and adhere to the general writing style and formatting guidelines of the APA Manual (6th ed.).
PART B:Module 3: Discussion Board (PLEASE VIEW POWERPOINT)
Provide a written response of at least one paragraph to each of the three discussion questions listed below:
1. What are the two overarching concepts that guide reading instruction and how do they relate to each other?
2.Why is it important to teach a student a variety of strategies to use when decoding?

PART C: Module 3 Assignment 1 - Attention Simulation
An important experience in this course is to understand what it is like to be a student with a learning disability, including students who are English Language Learners (ELL). In order to help you develop this understanding, you will be experiencing LD simulations and then writing about them.
Instructions:
There are four areas of learning in which you will participate in LD simulations: attention, reading, writing, and mathematics. Here in Module 3, you will experience and respond to only the first two of them: attention and reading (Module 3 Assignments 1 and 2). For this assignment, visit the following website and take part in all the simulations and the videos for attention, Here is the website:

Once you have experienced each of the simulations, answer the following questions.:
What did you experience and how did you feel as you tried the simulation?
What insights did the simulation give you into the experiences of students with learning disabilities in that particular area (e.g., attention or reading)?
How does this activity impact or influence your future interactions and teaching of students with disabilities?
Although this assignment includes four simulation areas (attention, reading, writing, and mathematics), here in Assignment 1 of Module 3 you are addressing only the first of those areas (attention).
Submission Instructions:
Your entire paper should be approximately one to two pages, not including the cover and reference page. Your response to the above questions should be edited for minor grammatical and spelling errors and adhere to the general writing style and formatting guidelines of the APA Manual (6th ed.). Complete and submit the assignment by 11:59 p.m. EDT on day 7 (Sunday, November 10, 2019). At the discretion of the course instructor, late assignments may be lowered one letter grade.
